The Australian duck farming industry has been growing over the past 30 years. Overall the industry is worth more than $100 million, and over 8 million ducks are killed annually. The industry has very similar husbandry practices as the chicken industry. That is, ducks are generally reared intensively inside sheds with little room and overall compromised welfare.
