Lush supports our Puppy Farm Campaign - April 2011

Lush Cosmetics join Animal Liberation’s Puppy Farm campaign

In all 20 of their stores in every state in Australia, Lush fitted out their shops to raise awareness of the plight of Puppy Farm dogs, complete with:

- Large Puppy Farm window displays on every side of the store;
- Animal Liberation petitions against Puppy Farm and Pet Shop cruelty, which all customers were asked to sign;
- Animal Liberation Puppy Farm leaflets at all counters and in all bags, and;
- Paw print, limited edition Bergamot-scented soaps called ‘SupPAWt’, whose proceeds all went directly to Animal Liberation’s campaign.

The campaign ran for over a week, educating thousands of people about Animal Liberation, and how to take action to help our companion animals.

Lush held press stunts in three different states, where staff members dressed in dog costumes sat inside cages, pleading passer-bys to boycott Puppy Farm cruelty and adopt their next dog from a shelter.

The staff informed customers of the horrors of Puppy Farms with every purchase, and the amount of soaps sold resulted in a donation of over $10,000 to fund our Puppy Farm campaign. The petitions gleaned thousands of signatures, and have been used to support upcoming anti-Puppy Farm legislation in each state.
