Christmas Party 2006

1jpg2006 was a great year for promoting our factory farmed friends to the front of the headlines. Chickens lead the way, followed closely behind by the little (bloomin huge) oinkers. What we are hoping for in 2007 is for Animal Liberation to outstrip 2006 in a big way. We have an extremely successful and motivated bunch of volunteers willing to donate their time and effort into making the world (at least Sydney) a happier place for animals.

The Animal Liberation Xmas party ran smoothly with up and coming volunteers congratulated for their outstanding efforts throughout 2006. Unfortunately for those volunteers, outstanding effort is now 100% expected 100% of the time as they are now considered slaves to the Animal Liberation movement. Congratulations people and welcome aboard.

The food, as usual, was delicious and plentiful from Sydney Pitt Street Vegetarian Restaurant. Nevertheless I have been told that in keeping with good vegan tradition, more food was sought and consumed by after party goers. Keep up the good work people!

Speeches by the master Mark Pearson as well as his side kick Dame Edna were well received and more surprisingly, to the point, especially with regards to the shrine of particulars. For those who missed that part of Dame's speech, I'll give you this clue, if you are ever wandering fields at night, wear a tight bio-suit as they can get caught up in nasty barbed wire...

2jpgOur 3 lovely ladies, Siobhan, Andrea and Angie were there to graciously hand out volunteer prizes as well maintain a level of organisation for the evening. If you have any complaints, please tell someone else, thank you ;)

Susanne Briggs, Il Presidente, was the superman 'faster than a speeding bullet' raffle drawer who also had the last say on the night which was to thank all who were there, as well as inform the opposition (who were probably there as well) that in 2007 we won't be letting off the pressure for one instance.

3jpgPlease enjoy the photos, no one is spared, however you might have to search a little to see yourself if you were up the back.

NB Angie is not picking her nose, she's trying to prevent Susanne from future hearing damage due to her supposed 'loud' laugh...

NB2 Siobhan must be centre of attention no matter how hard Larry and Dancin' tried with their respective outfits.
