Upcoming Events and Meetings. If you have any queries regarding any of the following meetings, please Contact us.
- Newcastle (NSW) AL public meeting - First Saturday of every month, 2pm, Family Support Centre, corner of Scott and Pacific Streets, Newcastle. Contact: Rochelle at 0405 066 543.
Animal Liberation meetings are a great way to get involved, it's a friendly atmosphere where you can feel like one of the team, we don't bite and we always welcome more volunteers!
Animal Liberation runs a number of groups which you can be a part of. You will find out what is going on in your local area, most groups hold monthly meetings, however others are email based and get together for special events only. If you would like to sign up to a group, please contact the Sydney office and we will put you in contact with the person who runs the group closest to you. If there isn't a group close to you, the best way to get involved is to sign up to the email list in your area - see 'Mailing List' to access this.
Lennon Bros Circus, boasting lions, monkeys, ponies and more, is coming to Penrith this June and we intend to be there to speak out for the animals. Join Animal Liberation NSW for a peaceful protest aimed at educating the public about the plight of circus animals, raising awareness of these issues and spreading support for an end to animals in circuses! Although many councils have banned the use of animals for performance on public land, Lennon Bros Circus is still able to set up on private land – which is why we would love to support a state-wide ban on all performing animals in circuses!
Already banned in the ACT, as well as many local, regional and state governments around the world – it is even banned entirely in countries such as Bolivia & Greece – animal circuses are past their expiry date! So join us in being a voice for the animals at Lennon Bros Circus and calling for an end to animals in circuses in NSW.
Lennon Bros' brand of "family entertainment" involves a life of captivity for animals born into the circus. They are denied their natural instincts in small enclosures, transported constantly and forced to perform unnatural and degrading tricks. Help to stop this misery now!
