Animal Liberation 3rd Activist’s Emotional Wellbeing Forum Workshop

Opening address

10.00 – 11.15 - Dr. Maggie Rose, Clinical Psychologist– is a highly experienced psychologist and counsellor with a Ph.D Clinical Psychology;Master of Science in Marriage, Child Family Counseling;BA in Psychology and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. Maggie has consulting rooms in Sydney CBD. Maggie is also a long-time animal rights activist.

Maggie will be speaking to us today about Compassion Fatigue

11.15 – 12.30 - Emma Hurst is a Registered Psychologist, BA(Psy), PGDip(Psy), M(HealthPsy) She has worked in the areas of adolescent mental health, aged care, child therapy, drug & alcohol, and sexuality after illness.  Her training and approach incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), behaviour change techniques, mindfulness, and interventions drawn from positive psychology. Emma has worked in a range of settings such as mental health services, universities, and specialist early intervention services. Emma is particularly interested in behaviour change and the promotion of animal advocacy.

Emma will be speaking to us about Avoiding anxiety, hopelessness and depression through value identification and goal setting

LUNCH 12.30 – 1 * lunch will be catered by delicious Funky Pies! Please bring drinks with you are some shops across the road from the venue

1.00 – 2.15 - Ling Halbert is a practicing Buddhist, a teacher and Neuro-Linguistic Programming therapist and she will be presenting horticulture therapy with herbs to assist with self-healing.

After Ling’s presentation we are off to a special vegan chocolate tasting to be hosted by the Cruelty Free Shop which is just 3 bus stops back toward the city or a brisk walk. Chocolate after all is widely known as a great emotional healer. The Cruelty Free Shop is putting this on just for our attendees to commence at 2.45

Transport: Bus routes 432, 433 and 444 stop on Glebe Point Road just past venue coming from city and almost across the road coming from opposite direction
