Now, more than in any previous time, kangaroos are being championed and exploited in greater numbers.

Industry continues its propaganda that kangaroos are in “plague proportions” and vested interest groups comply with this fabrication for profit.

Cynical marketing ploys are gaining traction and the term “kangatarian” has been coined for those who used to be vegetarians but, believing kangaroos to be “humanely” killed and the meat “environmentally friendly,” they are now eating kangaroo meat.  We urge you to please direct people to the report on our website by Dr. Dror Ben-Ami, “A Shot In The Dark.” This report, commissioned by Animal Liberation, tells the real truth about all aspects of the kangaroo industry.

The EU Parliament is now aware of the plight of adult and young kangaroos and the President of EU Parliament, Professor Jerzy Buzek has added his name to a growing number calling for a ban on the slaughter of kangaroos, including Dame Judy Dench and Alene McCarthy who was responsible for the passage of the new law banning the sale of seal products in Europe and the ban on dog and cat fur in 2008.

Hundreds of kangaroos each night are shot through the jaw and left to drown in their own blood while joeys’ heads are crushed with a boot or lead pipe.

Other joeys die of starvation, dehydration or predation.
