Animal Liberation Project Co-ordinator Jacqueline Dalziell visits a puppy farm, and exposes the reality behind that cute puppy in the window in this shocking expose. If you miss the initial program, you can hear it repeated on Tuesday, December 1st at 7pm, or listen to it on the Radio National website at: http://www.abc.net.au/rn/backgroundbriefing/stories/2009/2752846.htm Please leave a comment to demonstrate support for Clover Moores' Animal (Regulation of Sale) Bill, and to ban puppy farms, kitten mills, and the sale of live animals in pet shops.

The aussie govt is a total disgrace, its about time the world acted to stop the biggest land based slaughter of wildlife in this world today. Well done to 60 mins for making New Zealand aware of this greed based disgusting roo industry, now the rest of the world needs to know as well. How dare the Rudd administration treat the national symbol as a disposable piece of rubbish, for its own financial gain, well done Russia for having the guts to say NO to the meat imports, the rest of the world needs to maintain this stance as well, no market, no industry. Well done to our friend Pat O Brien for carrying this fight forward, we are behind you 110% mate.

I too am a wildlife carer of macropods for many years. What Cienwen Hickey said is spot on. In Qld. it is the same thing, the same government body gives out shooting permits and carer permits. They don't contribute one penny towards the care and rehabilitation of these animals, and then when the animals are ready to release back into the wild, they tell you to release them exactly where you found them because of "the gene pool" Oh yeah, just dump them on the side of the road where they were found dying in their dead mothers pouch? The roo shooters, consider themselves "Professional Shooters". Any idiot with a gun can blind an animal at night with a spotlight and shoot it with a high powered rifle with a scope. What may I ask is Professional about that. And it is all sanctioned by our government who is moaning about the whaling industry. What a bloody joke!!!! It's all about the almighty dollar. Government bodies need a reality check.
